Aon Is Looking For a Health Exchange Actuarial Analyst Aon is looking for an Actuarial Analyst to serve clients within our private healthcare exchange, the Aon Active Health Exchange (AAHE). The AAHE is growing and it is an exciting time to be part of the team dedicated to serving our clients and partners within this industry leading solution. We’re looking for someone who is passionate about actuarial work. As part of an industry-leading team, you will help empower results for our clients by delivering innovative and effective solutions as part of our Exchanges business group within Aon. Preferred locations will include: NYC, Denver or Chicago; however we will consider candidates located virtually within the US. . Candidates with more experience may be considered for a Consultant I level role. Job Responsibilities:Data collection and review: feasibility studies; annual RFP processChecking and quality controlFinancial modeling (including quality review) of medical and dental quoted rates vs. self-insured projectionsInitial bid analysis (including actuarial value modeling) to assist with the negotiation processAssistance with Defined Contribution modelingImplementation support to benefits administration teamsParticipation in Health & Benefits practice sponsored and external training, to grow consulting acumenAbility to work in a fast-paced environment that requires keeping up with multiple deadlines at the same timeAbility to step into a lead analyst role with potential to transition to a client-facing role after learning requirements on the jobWill work within the team to make metallic recommendations, subsidy recommendations, set funding requirements for SI clients, etc.Prioritize tasks from most important to leastUses “the sniff test” when completing work i.e. does this result make senseManages priorities, communicates potential delays, and delivers results on timeProactively accepts new projects when they become availableEffectively communicates project resultsRequired Experience:2-4 years of health and welfare experience (carrier or employer consulting) Understands health insurance concepts, underwriting, forecasting, and analysis.
